The XTRA backboard is one of the most significant developments in patient transport. For several years, many backboards have been designed based on x-ray translucence
(radio-transparency) instead of rigidity, at the expense of patient safety.
Description
While many backboard manufacturers rightly claim excellent x-ray translucence (which would place them high on the chart) or rigidity* (which would put them to the right on the chart), only XTRA has the perfect combination of x-ray translucence and rigidity.
